From façade to finite-element — transform masonry images into intelligent digital models.
Image2DEM automates the transformation of masonry imagery into highly accurate digital models, ready for simulation and analysis. It replaces manual workflows with intelligent AI detection — no technical background required.
Assessing the structural integrity of aging masonry infrastructure is a complex and critical task. Traditional methods are often labour-intensive and prone to inaccuracies. Image2DEM offers a groundbreaking solution, automating the "scan to structural modelling" process to provide efficient, accurate, and detailed structural assessments of existing masonry assets.
Image2DEM's engine uses Fully Convolutional Networks, trained on curated datasets from heritage and urban infrastructure. It performs real-time segmentation and adapts to varying image quality using built-in calibration.
We offer customized solutions aimed at diagnosing, preserving, and enhancing the resilience of masonry structures against the challenges posed by time and environmental factors. The toolkit's ability to segment masonry units and detect damages like cracks, distortions, and missing bricks leads to more reliable inspections, potentially reducing unnecessary repair and strengthening interventions. This contributes to more informed maintenance schemes and aligns with "Net Zero" strategies by optimizing resource allocation and extending the lifespan of critical assets.
Lets take a look at the viaduct from the first page.
The advantage of ReSense is that it works from normal photography. This can be done using a camera phone, or DSLR. It will work on entire structures (as here) or on partial walls. Photographs can be taken from street level or from a drone.
This is then uploaded to: www.remote-sensing.uk. Leveraging CNNs and image processing, this tool detects and classifies elements such as blocks and cracks in images.
To the left is the Blocks Mask. Another output is the Mortar mask.
The image planes are then combined to form the Final Geometry.
This can then be converted to file formats which can be used in GIS or architecture systems, for further analysis
Through innovative remote sensing techniques, advanced imaging technology, and state-of-the-art data analytics, we offer customized solutions aimed at diagnosing, preserving, and enhancing the resilience of masonry structures against the challenges posed by time and environmental factors.
Our commitment goes beyond mere preservation; we strive to empower the future of architectural conservation through meticulous attention to detail, innovative methodologies, and a deep respect for cultural heritage.
